What is Color Rendering Index?

The CRI is a relative scale (ranging from 0 – 100) indicating how perceived colors match familiar reference source (Eg Sunlight, Incadescent lamp). It measures the degree that perceived colors of objects, illuminated by a given light source conform to the colors of those same objects when they are lighted by a reference standard light source. The higher the color rendering index, the less color shift or distortion occurs.

The CRI number does not indicate which colors will shift or by how much; it is rather an indication of the average shift of eight standard colors. Two different light sources may have identical CRI values, but colors may appear quite different under these two sources.

What is importance of CRI in Textile Industries ?

In textile industry CRI has a very important role to play. Cone/Bobbin checker are employed at various stages of textile machines (Eg. Simplex, Ring Frame, Finishing department (winding)) etc. They make sure that the yarn color & intended fabric color match each other and there is not much of shade variation.

Under conventional lighting if CRI is not good Bobbin/Cone checker are not able to identify shade variations and it leads to huge losses if it remains undetected.

What does Pyrotech offer ?

Pyrotech provides LED tube lights with good CRI (>80). We have given solutions to several textile plants wherein due to good lighting levels along with excellent CRI Bobbin/Cone checker are able to identify difference in various shades very easily.

Earlier the customer was using FTL lights consuming 40W+choke losses and we have supplied LED tubelight (T8) consuming only 19W. So power saving is more than 60% with a LED tube light.
